Welcome

This reading list toolkit is designed to enable staff to reflect on curriculum content and reading lists to ensure education at Leeds is representative of our diverse student body. Students and staff are represented throughout speaking from their own experiences about why this has been important to them.  The toolkit contains guidance on how to start the process of diversification, including questions to ask when evaluating current reading list content, and examples from staff who are beginning to undertake this work already. It also covers some of the ways the Library can offer support, building and promoting more diverse collections.

Thank you to everyone who has already contributed to the development of the toolkit so far. As it continues to grow and evolve, we want it to be as relevant and useful as possible. Please send any feedback, including ways we can improve the toolkit, to readinglistsdiversification@leeds.ac.uk.

A big thank you to James Wagstaff, LITE intern Summer 2024, whose report and recommendations have underpinned our work on the toolkit. Thank you also to the academics who were part of the research. The full report can be viewed and downloaded below.
